§ 15.16.060. Compliance with chapter provisions

  • All new signs erected in the city after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall comply with the regulations of this chapter. Nonconforming signs in place at date of adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter may remain for a period of one year after such adoption but no later than June 1, 1991. All sign in residential areas may be deemed nonconforming if residents within the two hundred fifty (250) foot radius (Section 15.16.040(A)) protest the location. All nonconforming signs must be removed at the expense of the owner by the aforementioned date or have received a variance from the governing body.
