  • The mayor, city finance officer, and a reputable physician to be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the common council shall constitute the board of health of the city. The mayor shall be the president, the finance officer shall be the clerk and the physician, so appointed, shall be the superintendent of the city board of health. The president and clerk of the board shall serve without additional compensation and the superintendent shall receive for his or her services, the usual charge for like services performed by the superintendent of the county board of health.
