§ 2.04.020. Officers

A. Elective Officers. The elective officers of the city shall be a mayor and two aldermen from each ward.

B. Terms. The term of the elective officers shall be for two years and until their successors are elected or appointed and qualified; provided, that one alderman from each ward shall be elected each year at the annual election. Each elective officer when elected to fill a vacancy shall enter upon the discharge of his or her duties as soon as he or she shall have qualified and shall serve until the next annual election at which the vacancy could be filled, and every such officer, when elected for a full term, shall enter upon the discharge of his or her duties at the first regular meeting in July next succeeding his or her election or as soon thereafter as he or she shall have duly qualified.
