§ 16.12.030. Easements

  • A. Easements across all lots or centered on the rear or side lot lines shall be provided for utilities where necessary and shall be at least five feet in width.

    B. Where a subdivision is traversed by a water course, drainage way, channel or stream, there shall be provided a storm water easement or drainage right-of-way conforming substantially with the lines of such water course, and such further width or construction, or both, as will be adequate for the purpose.

    C. All persons furnishing utility services to a proposed new subdivision will be furnished with a final plat of the full subdivision as proposed. Upon requirement of the city engineer or city superintendent, the persons involved shall submit to him or her a copy of the map showing the proposed location and/or route, of all utility service lines, wires, conductors, poles, pipes, cables, guy wires, anchors, manholes, or other facilities or appurtenances relating to the installation of the utilities.

    D. Where underground facilities are required by the developer, subdivider, or owner, and arrangements have been made therefor for utility service, the arrangements must be made prior to the time of the submission of the final plat for approval, and the city engineer or city superintendent notified thereof.
