In case any house or building is incorrectly numbered, the city engineer or city superintendent,
is authorized and empowered, to order the owner, lessee, occupant, purchaser, or person
constructing the same, to correctly number such house or building, and it unlawful
for any such person, so ordered, to refuse to comply with such order. The number of
any house or building hereafter erected, as determined by the city engineer or city
superintendent, shall, be assigned and indicated upon the approved building permit
therefor.
